On October 24, in the framework of the working visit to the French Republic, the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan visited The Senate of the French Republic, where he had meetings with Senate Vice President Pierre Ouzoulias, Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Armed Forces Cédric Perrin and Chairman of the France-Armenia Friendship Group Gilbert-Luc Devinaz. Topics related to the Armenian-French bilateral defence cooperation were discussed. The Minister of Defence introduced the current course of cooperation and the results of the discussions held during the visit. Minister Papikyan expressed his gratitude for the support in the development of cooperation. The senators expressed readiness to proceed further in supporting the improvement of Armenian-French cooperation. During the meeting, issues related to regional security were discussed as well.

In the framework of the working visit to the French Republic, the Minister of Defence Suren Papikyan had meetings with the Chairman of the Commission on National Defence and Armed Forces of the National Assembly of the French Republic Thomas Gassilloud and the Chairman of the Committee of Foreign Affairs Jean-Louis Bourlanges. Issues related to Armenian-French bilateral defence cooperation and regional security were discussed. The Minister of Defence expressed his gratitude to the French parliamentarians for supporting the development of cooperation and pro-Armenian activities on national and European platforms. During the day, Minister Papikyan visited the "Les Invalides" military rehabilitation and disabled veterans support center and got acquainted with the center's activities.

In the framework of the working visit to the French Republic, Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan visited the Ministry of the Armed Forces of the French Republic, where a ceremonial welcome was held with participation of the Military Band and Guard of Honour. The national anthems of the Republic of Armenia and the French Republic were played. Thereafter, a meeting with the French Minister for the Armed Forces, Sébastien Lecornu took place. The meeting was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the French Republic Hasmik Tolmajyan and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to the Republic of Armenia Olivier Decottignies as well.

On October 20, Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Hellenic Republic to the Republic of Armenia H.E. Mr. Evangelos Tournakis and the newly appointed Defence Attaché, Colonel Christos Arseniou. The Minister of Defence congratulated Colonel Christos Arseniou on the occasion of the mission commencement in Armenia and wished him success in his further activities. During the meeting, issues related to Armenian-Hellenic defence cooperation, as well as regional security, were discussed.

On October 5, at around 1:50 p.m., armed forces units of Azerbaijan discharged fire at a vehicle transporting provisions for the personnel stationed at Armenian combat outposts near Norabak (Gegharkunik Province). There are no casualties.

Issues related to the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, as well as other security topics were discussed during the meeting.

On October 2, as a result of Azerbaijani AF fire on the vehicle of the RA Armed Forces transporting provisions for personnel on duty at Armenian combat positions, there are 1 casualty and 2 wounded on the Armenian side. Azerbaijani AF units tried to target the ambulance as well, which is a gross violation of international humanitarian law. Aram Tigran Kocharyan is the deceased serviceman of the N military unit of the MoD. The Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia shares the pain of loss and expresses condolences to the family members, relatives, and colleagues of the serviceman. The lives of the wounded servicemen are not in danger. They were taken to a military hospital.

There are casualties on the Armenian side in the wake of the fire by the Azerbaijani armed forces on a vehicle carrying food for the personnel conducting duties at the Armenian combat positions. The Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia will provide information later. As of 4 p.m., the situation on the frontier is relatively stable.
