General Edvard Asryan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Armenia
On June 17, at the administrative complex of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia, First Deputy Minister of Defence, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, Lieutenant General Edvard Asryan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Armenia Claudia Busch. Within the framework of the visit, Ambassador Claudia Busch, on behalf of the Federal Government of Germany, handed over 16 snowmobiles to the Ministry of Defence for the purpose of modernizing technical means and developing capabilities of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia. The Ambassador noted that Armenia and Germany are connected by close relations. He particularly emphasized that since 2025, bilateral relations have been strengthened by the Strategic Partnership Agenda, which was signed by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and the Federal Chancellor of Germany Friedrich Merz. The snowmobiles will be used in high mountain conditions for the transportation of personnel and small, light loads.With the support of experts from Germany, the personnel of the Armenian Armed Forces are currently undergoing training in the operation of snowmobiles.

In the frameworks of preparations for participation in international peacekeeping missions, the launch of the “Eagle Partner-2026” military exercise was announced on June 17 at the “Zar” training center. The servicemen involved in the exercise were welcomed by the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, Major General Artur Yeroyan. The national anthems of Armenia, the United States, France and Greece, as well as the anthem of the “Eagle Partner” military exercise were played. The exercise involves servicemen from the Armed Forces Peacekeeping Brigade of the Republic of Armenia, the ground forces of U.S. Army Europe and Africa, and the Kansas National Guard, the armed forces of France and Greece. The main objectives of the exercise are: Increasing the level of interoperability of units participating in international peacekeeping missions within the framework of peacekeeping operations, Exchanging best practices in management and tactical communication, Strengthening the readiness of the peacekeeping unit of the Republic of Armenia.

Ավելին"Eagle Partner-2026" military exercise will be held in the Republic of Armenia
Within the framework of preparation for participation in international peacekeeping missions, the annual "Eagle Partner-2026" military exercise will be held in the Republic of Armenia from June 17 to 25. The military exercises will be attended by servicemen from the Armenian Armed Forces Peacekeeping Brigade (250 participants), the ground forces of U.S. Army Europe and Africa, and the Kansas National Guard (58 participants), the Armed Forces of the French Republic (24 participants), and Hellenic Republic (11 participants). During the exercise, trainings will be held to prepare for and implement peacekeeping tasks. The goal of the "Eagle Partner-2026" military exercise is to increase the level of interoperability of units participating in international peacekeeping missions within the framework of peacekeeping operations, to exchange best practices in management and tactical communication, as well as to strengthen the readiness of the peacekeeping unit of the Republic of Armenia's Armed Forces. As part of preparations for peacekeeping missions, units preparing for international peacekeeping operations regularly participate in similar joint military exercises and drills in partner countries.

From June 10 to 11, a delegation led by the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, Major General Artur Yeroyan, participated in the session of the Executive Academic Board of the European Security and Defence College at the headquarter of the European Commission in Brussels. During the event, Major General Artur Yeroyan presented the reforms being implemented in the fields of military education and training within the framework of the transformation of the Army of the Republic of Armenia. Speeches were also delivered by the Head of the Vazgen Sargsyan Military Academy of the Ministry of Defence, Major General Arsen Mangasaryan, and Tigran Harutyunyan, Coordinator of the Ministry of Defence's Cooperation in the Field of Military Education with NATO and the EU. Representatives of the Executive Academic Board of the European Security and Defence College highly appreciated the reforms being implemented in the military educational institutions of the Republic of Armenia and emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation, in particular within the framework of the EU military “Erasmus” (EMILYO) program. The proposal of the National Defence Research University of the Ministry of Defence and the Vazgen Sargsyan Military Academy to join the college as an associate partner was approved, and was forwarded to the college’s steering committee for approval. Within the framework of the visit to Brussels, the delegation of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia met with the Head of the Directorate for Defence and Security Cooperation, Piers Cazalet, at NATO Headquarter, to discuss issues related to current programs and prospects for cooperation in the defence sector.
