Suren Papikyan met with the Chairman of the EU Military Committee
On March 13, the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan met with the Chairman of the EU Military Committee, General Sean Clancy in Brussels. During the meeting issues related to military education, exercises, involvement in missions within the framework of cooperation between the EU and the Republic of Armenia in the field of security and defence, as well as other questions of mutual interest were discussed. The parties also discussed a number of issues related to regional and international security.

On March 12, within the framework of his working visit to Brussels the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan met with the Minister of Defence and Foreign Trade of the Kingdom of Belgium Theo Francken. The ministers discussed issues related to Armenia-Belgium cooperation in the defence sector. During the meeting, the parties emphasized the great potential for the development of cooperation in military education, professional training, military medicine, peacekeeping, humanitarian demining and other areas, reaching an agreement to continue work on expanding cooperation. The interlocutors also discussed a number of issues related to international security.

On February 13, the Minister of Defense, Suren Papikyan received Chargé d'Affaires of the United States Embassy in Armenia, David Allen. Minister Papikyan congratulated David Allen on assuming the position and wished him success. During the meeting, issues related to Armenia-U.S. cooperation in the defense sector were discussed. Suren Papikyan emphasized the importance of Armenia-U.S. cooperation in the current period, when Armenia is in an active phase of defense reforms. Reference was also made to bilateral military-technical cooperation. The sides particularly emphasized the areas of education, training, exercises, exchange of experience, and professional advisory support. David Allen expressed the United State's readiness to develop defense cooperation with Armenia, as well as support for the defense reform process in Armenia. Issues regarding to regional and international security were also discussed.
