As part of his working visit to the USA, on September 6, RA Defence Minister Suren Papikyan, accompanied by RA Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the USA Lilit Makunts, visited the Salina training center operating in the state of Kansas. In the center, the Minister of Defence met with the Adjutant General of Kansas, the Commander of the National Guard, Major General David Weishaar.

During the meeting, a number of issues related to cooperation between Armenia and Kansas within the framework of the US state partnership program were discussed.

The Minister of Defence highly appreciated the current level of cooperation, emphasizing the great potential in the fields of peacekeeping mission, military education and training, as well as military medicine. Major General David Weishaar, in turn, noted that the Republic of Armenia has been a traditional partner of Kansas for decades and expressed willingness to make every effort to develop cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

At the end of the meeting, the delegation led by the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia made a tour of the training center of Salina, got acquainted with the educational process, exercises and military trainings.
