Meeting at the Ministry of Defence
On July 29, a conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the AF Department of Moral and Psychological Support was held at the MoD premises. The Head of the Department of Moral and Psychological Support of the Armed Forces, Colonel Seryozha Stepanyan briefed on the activities of the department over the past 30 years, current issues, and upcoming programs. The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces- First Deputy Minister of Defence, Lieutenant General Edward Asryan congratulated the personnel on the department’s anniversary and wished them safe service. At the end of the meeting, a range of servicemembers with the best performance on conscientious service were awarded certificates and departmental medals.

ԱվելինSuren Papikyan had a meeting with alumni of educational programs
On July 28, the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan had a meeting with the 2022-2023 academic year’s alumni of RA and foreign higher military educational programs in the Defence Ministry. Welcoming and congratulating the officers, the head of the Defence Ministry emphasized that the country's politico-military leadership is focused on the officers’ recruitment process in the Armed Forces who are professional in their duty. The Chief of the General Staff of the RA Armed Forces- First Deputy Minister of Defence, Lieutenant General Edward Asryan congratulated the graduates as well. At the end of the ceremony, Defence Minister awarded the participants the ranks of officers.

ԱվելինA collegium meeting was held at the Ministry of Defence
On June 28, a collegium meeting was held under the leadership of the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan according to the agenda "The outputs of the combat training of the RA Armed Forces of the 1st semester of the 2023 academic year". Coming up with opening remarks, the head of the Defence Agency emphasized that the discussed issues are too essential in strengthening the combat capability of the Armed Forces. Suren Papikyan assured that a number of projects have already been implemented and measures will be taken in the near future that will significantly increase the level of combat readiness of servicemembers. Following the reports of the attendees the Minister of Defence gave some guidance.

ԱվելինThe Chief of the General Staff of the RA Armed Forces received the delegation of the National University of MoD Defence Technology of the People's Republic of China
On July 27, Chief of the General Staff of the RA Armed Forces- First Deputy Minister of Defence, Lieutenant General Edward Asryan received a delegation from the National University of Defence Technology of the Ministry of Defence of the People's Republic of China, headed by the Director of the Center for International Studies, Professor Ma Jianguan. The sides highly valued the current status of Armenian-Chinese cooperation, in particular in domains of military education and personnel training, at the same time welcoming the setup and strengthening of close ties between the educational institutions of the two states. During the meeting, ways and prospects for further expansion of interuniversity cooperation were discussed.

On July 26, at around 4:30 p.m., Murad Seryozha Grigoryan, a soldier of the N military unit of the RA Ministry of Defence, was fatally wounded by a firearm under circumstances yet not determined. An investigation is underway to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident. The Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia shares the deep grief of the loss and expresses support to the family members, next of kin, and fellow soldiers of the serviceman.

On July 26, within the framework of the annual assembly of the defence attaches of the Republic of Armenia, the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan held a meeting with the RA defence attaches accredited abroad. During the meeting, the defence attaches presented their work. The process and main directions of the reforms being implemented in the MoD were presented to the military attaches by Minister Papikyan as well. Afterwards, summing up the results of the assembly, Defence Minister gave appropriate instructions.

On July 25, the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Armenia Giorgi Sharvashidze. The Defence Attache of the Embassy of Georgia to the Republic of Armenia Lieutenant Colonel Jaba Toroshelidze participated in the meeting, as well. Issues related to the progress and prospects for expanding the Armenian-Georgian cooperation in the defence sphere were discussed.

On July 24, the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to the Republic of Armenia Nilakshi Saha Sinha. During the meeting, a number of topics related to the progress and development of bilateral cooperation in defence sphere, as well as regional security issues were discussed.

ԱվելինA military lottery of the military universities' graduates was held
On July 21, in the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia, a military lottery was held for the future place of graduates' service of the Military University after V. Sargsyan and the Military Aviation University after A. Khanperyants, as well as their appointment to officer positions. Deputy Defence Minister Arman Sargsyan congratulated the graduates of military universities on their appointment to serve in the relevant military units, wishing them a peaceful and safe service.

On July 21, a meeting of the military council was held under the leadership of the Chief of the General Staff of the RA Armed Forces- First Deputy Minister of Defence, Lieutenant General Edward Asryan at the MoD premises. During the meeting, the topics on the reforms being carried out in the Armed Forces were touched upon, as well as the programs conducted in this context and plans for the near future. Issues related to the implementation of the concept of "Mission Command", the development of professional NCOs system and a number of other topics were discussed. Afterwards, reports were made, proposals were presented.

Chief of the General Staff of the RA Armed Forces-First Deputy Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Edward Asryan had a short conversation with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the U.S. Army, General Mark A. Milley on the occasion of State Partnership Program 30th Anniversary held in Washington within the framework of the conference. During the tete-a-tete talk, the importance of the State Partnership Program with Kansas was emphasized.
