On June 19th, the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia, Suren Papikyan, held a meeting with the Military Adviser and Chief of the Military Staff to the President of France, General Fabien Mandon. During the meeting, they discussed the ongoing cooperation between Armenia and France in the field of defence, as well as prospective programs. The Minister of Defence provided an update on the reforms within the Armenian Armed Forces and the level of support of France in this context. Additionally, issues related to regional and international security were addressed.

On June 17th, on the sidelines of his working visit to France, Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia, Suren Papikyan, met with the Minister of the Armed Forces of France, Sébastien Lecornu. During the meeting, the current state of defence cooperation between Armenia and France was discussed. The Minister of Defence of the RA provided an update on the progress of defence reforms in Armenia and the activities carried out within the framework of cooperation with France in this direction. Both parties emphasized the importance of military-technical cooperation. New agreements have been reached in this regard.

On June 14th, at approximately 8:20 a.m., the body of contract soldier Armen Gurgen Gasparyan was discovered with a gunshot wound in the security station of the N military unit of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia. An investigation is currently underway to fully elucidate the circumstances surrounding the incident. The Ministry of Defence extends its deepest condolences and support to the family, relatives, and comrades of the serviceman.
