The head of the EU delegation in Armenia, Ambassador Pyotr Svitalski was also present at the meeting.

The Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia presented the EU officials with information concerning recent activity and the current situation on the line of contact between the opposing sides of the Artsakh conflict and the Armenia-Azerbaijan state border. Vigen Sargsyan expressed the need for direct condemnation of the counterparty that increases tensions by the international community and the EU, the implementation of mechanisms for investigating incidents and monitoring the situation, and other solutions that develop an atmosphere of mutual trust, as important factors in the efficiency of negotiations aimed at resolving the conflict.

Herbert Salber in turn noted that the EU accepts the leadership of the OSCE Minsk group in the resolution of the Artsakh conflict, and is ready to contribute to increasing the activity of negotiations in this format.
