General Edvard Asryan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Armenia

On June 17, at the administrative complex of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia, First Deputy Minister of Defence, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, Lieutenant General Edvard Asryan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Armenia Claudia Busch.

Within the framework of the visit, Ambassador Claudia Busch, on behalf of the Federal Government of Germany, handed over 16 snowmobiles to the Ministry of Defence for the purpose of modernizing technical means and developing capabilities of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia.

The Ambassador noted that Armenia and Germany are connected by close relations. He particularly emphasized that since 2025, bilateral relations have been strengthened by the Strategic Partnership Agenda, which was signed by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and the Federal Chancellor of Germany Friedrich Merz.

The snowmobiles will be used in high mountain conditions for the transportation of personnel and small, light loads.With the support of experts from Germany, the personnel of the Armenian Armed Forces are currently undergoing training in the operation of snowmobiles.
