Armenian Defence Minister Davit Tonoyan attended on 30 April a meeting of CSTO Defence Ministers Council, in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.

The meeting discussed several issues on the agenda. In a narrow-format meeting, the defence ministers discussed issues related to the Central Asian region and the de-escalation efforts on the Tajik-Afghan border. At the expanded meeting, the development of the CSTO military component and the 2020 programme of CSTO governing bodies were discussed.

At the end of the day, all the agenda issues that were agreed on were signed.

On the sidelines of the meeting, the 2019 action plan between the Armenian and Kazakh defence ministries was signed.
