A delegation headed by David Pakhchanyan, a Deputy Defence minister of Armenia and the chairman of the State Defence Industry Committee, visited Poland September 3-6.

At the meetings with Poland’s Deputy Foreign Minister Bartosz Cichocki and Deputy Defence Minister Bartosz Kownacki, attended also by Armenian Ambassador to Poland Edgar Ghazaryan, the parties discussed issues related to Armenian-Polish cooperation in the military-technical fields, as well as regional security issues. The parties praised the level of military-technical cooperation, adding it serves as a solid basis for the discussion of new programs and projects.

At the meeting held in the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the parties also discussed the Karabakh issue: the Polish side reaffirmed its stance on exclusively peaceful settlement of the conflict within the OSCE Minsk Group. Pakhchanyan praised the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs in that direction.

Kownacki thanked the Armenian delegation for accepting the invitation to participate in the prestigious military industrial exhibition in Kielce. He highlighted the effective cooperation between the defence ministries of the two countries and conveyed hope that Polish weapons and military technologies will interest Armenia and open new prospects for cooperation. In his turn, Pakhchanyan invited Polish defence industry companies to participate in a similar exhibition to be held in Yerevan soon.

Following his participating in the official opening ceremony of the 25th Kielce international exhibition, Pakhchanyan then had working meetings with heads and representatives of a number of companies.
