As a result of the assignment given by the President of the Republic of Armenia, and in accordance with the agreement reached between the Ministries of Defense of the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation, the second shipment this week of humanitarian aid for civilians affected by the conflict in Syria was sent on June 8th.

Earlier, on June 7th, 18 tons of humanitarian aid, consisting mainly of food and clothing, was sent to Syria. The cargo plane delivered the humanitarian aid to the military base of the Russian Federation located in the city of Latakia of the Arabic Republic of Syria in the evening of June 7th. Shortly thereafter, the carrier was unloaded and the resources were distributed.

As a result of the efforts of the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia and the Center for Reconciliation of the Russian Federation, the humanitarian aid will first be distributed to families in Latakia, Damascus, Aleppo and other Syrian cities, in order of necessity.

This is the 3rd phase of humanitarian aid sent to Syria. This first airplane had departed for Latakia from Yerevan, in February of this year.
