The delegation from the US European Command is in Armenia

The delegation led by the deputy director of the planning and political directorate of the US European Command, Brigadier General Dawne Deskins, arrived in the Republic of Armenia on March 27th.

During the visit, Brigadier General Deskins met with the chief of the defense policy departments of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, Levon Ayvazyan, the chief of the department of strategic planning of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, major-general Gennadi Tavaratsyan, and chief of the Center of Human Rights and Integrity Building of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, LTC Alik Avetisyan.

 

Questions concerning projects implenented through Armenian-American defense cooperation, defense reforms, implementation of the "mission command" concept, strategic review of defense, human rights in defense, integrity building and other questions of mutual interest were discussed during the meeting.

 

A visit by Brigadier General D. Deskins to the peackeeping engineering batallion of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia is planned for March 28th. The aim of the visit is to become acquainted with the progress in the courses on detection and neutralization of improvise explosive devices, led by American instructors.
