The joint forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation carried out another military exercise

In accordance with the 2017 preparation plan of the Armed Forces, the joint forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation carried out another military exercise from March 21st to March 25th.

In the aim of the exercises, taking place in the context of the "preparation for defensive operations by the joint forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation" theme, was to improve coordination between working groups in management points, and develop the skills of the joint forces in preparation and execution of operations.

 

According to the scenario of the exercise, the adversary concentrates its forces in border-adjacent regions, with the goal of crossing the state borders of the Republic of Armenia. All subdivisions included in the exercises were brought to a high level of combat preparedness. Decisions were made concerning the implementation of the pre-approved defensive operations. Simultaneously, operations were carried out to transfer the defense of the state border to the Armenian side, and previously determined steps were carried out with the 102nd base of the Russian Federation.

 

Officials involved in the exercises immediately adjusted the regions in which the exercise will take place, and specified the time-frame in which the operations should take place. Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation, major-general Andranik Makaryan, gave several assignments concerning the coordination of planned events by the joint forces.
