A Meeting Between the Ministers of Defense of the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation has Taken Place

As part of the meeting of the council of ministers of defense of CSTO member states, a meeting between Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia Seyran Ohanyan and Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, army general Sergey Shoygu took place on August 16th.

During the meeting, questions concerning international and regional security, as well as military and military-technical bilateral cooperation were discussed. The Ministers noted the high level of cooperation between the two countries, and outlined directions for future cooperation.

The humanitarian efforts of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in Syria were also discussed. The Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia expressed his willingness to aid the Russian Federation in its humanitarian efforts.

As a result of the meeting, the two Ministers signed an agreement "Concerning cooperation in the detection and evaluation of radiation, chemical, and biological situations in the military field, as dictated by the interests of the joint forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia and the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation."
