The First Deputy Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia had Meetings at the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany

First Deputy Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia Davit Tonoyan, in Germany on a working visit, had meetings on May 17th at the Ministries of Defence and Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany with the head of political affairs of the Ministry of Defence Dr. Von Geyer and the head of the OSCE German co-presidency Mrs. Anite Lenders.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Federal Republic of Germany Ashot Smbatyan and military attache of the Republic of Armenia in the Federal Republic of Armenia Mesrop Nazaryan participated in the meetings.

During the meeting at the Ministry of Defence, questions concerning the present state and future potential of Armenian-German bilateral cooperation in the sphere of defence were discussed, with particular emphasis placed on exchange of experience in the process of reform in RA defence, and questions concerning military education and joint participation in international missions. The future of joint cooperation in UN missions as well as missions led by other international organizations was also discussed.

During the meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany, questions concerning the strengthening of the ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as possibilities for broadening the scope of supervision and implementing investigative mechanisms.

On May 18th, the First Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia Davit Tonoyan will have meetings in the staff of the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany.
