On May 4th, Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia Seyran Ohanyan received the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Armenia, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Seyyed Kazem Sajjadi. During the meeting, the two sides discussed questions concerning bilateral cooperation and regional security.

The Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia presented the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran with the agreement concerning defence cooperation, made with his counterpart during a meeting in Moscow, expressing assurances that they will come to fruition in the future. Upon the Ambassador's request, Seyran Ohanyan presented the situation surrounding the NKR conflict as well as the aggressive steps taken by the adversary that instigate a new armed operations.

Ambassador Seyyed Kazem Sajjadi expressed concerns about the situation, as well as a readiness to apply all efforts to ensure peace and stability. In addition to other areas, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran also placed a high priority on the development of bilateral defence cooperation.
