On the Day of Army we bring our blessing from the Holy See St. Echmiadzin with happy heart to the brave soldiers and officers of the Armenian army, the employees of the Defense Ministry and to whole Armenian nation,'' an address made by Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin B says. Catholicos has expressed his content to God since the Armenian army has become mature in the combat for the re-establishment of the Armenian statement.

On January 22.2008 RA Defense minister Michael Harutyunyan received outgoing United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Armenia Entoni Kentori, on the occasion of completion of his diplomatic mission.

Mkrtich Abrahamyan, the Lieutenant General and the former deputy minister of the Defense Ministry died in the age of 69.

On December 15, 2007 RA Defense Minister received the delegation headed by US Chargé d´Affairs in Armenia Joseph Pennington.

The welcome ceremony of the 7th shift of Armenian peacekeepers to Kosovo was held at the Municipal Regiment of Yerevan. The ceremony was attended by the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia Seyran Ohanyan and other senior officials.

On November 8, 2007Armenian Defense Minister Michael Harutyunyan and Iran’s Defense Minister and Armed Forces Logistics, Major General Mostafa Mohammad Najjar signed a memorandum on cooperation between the two countries in the sphere of defense.
