The Minister of Defence received the Head of the office of the Council of Europe in Yerevan

On July 8, Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia David Tonoyan received Head of the office of the Council of Europe in Yerevan Natalia Voutova on the occasion of the completion of her mission in Armenia.

The results of the activities carried out during the first stage of the “Human Rights and Women in the Armed Forces of Armenia” program being implemented by the office of the Council of Europe in Yerevan were summarized, the activities envisaged within the framework of the second stage were discussed during the meeting.

Both sides emphasized the importance of the introduction of the program in the context of raising awareness about human rights in the Armed Forces, developing educational opportunities, promoting institutional reforms of the Ministry of Defence and ensuring continuity of the cooperation.

The Minister of Defence thanked Natalia Voutova for the effective cooperation established since 2016 and wished her success in her new position.

The program is being implemented within the framework of the program of the actions 2019-2022 of the Council of Europe. It is funded by Germany, Ireland, Liechtenstein and Sweden.
