The Minister of Defence of Armenia visited the military hospital

On May 25, the Minister of Defence of Armenia visited the Central Clinical Military Hospital of the Ministry of Defence of Armenia.

David Tonoyan took part in the opening ceremony of the fully renovated and re-equipped departments of traumatology, urology and general surgery.

The Minister of Defence toured the reopened departments, got acquainted with the implemented activities, installed new equipment and ventilation systems.

The renovation and re-equipment activities carried out under the direct supervision of the Minister of Defence were conducted in one stage, which allowed to pass to the medical service without wasting time.

By the order of the Minister of Defence, three departments of the Central Clinical Military Hospital were named after the dedicated medical personnel. From now on, the surgical department will be named after Major Sergey Harutyunyan, the neurosurgery department will be named after Captain Karo Heboyan and the anesthesia department will be named after Lieutenant Tigran Hovesyan. The officers were killed in a helicopter crash on January 19, 2000.

During the visit, the Minister of Defence met with the wounded servicemen, then a consultation was held in the hospital with the participation of the leadership of the military medical service. The Minister of Defence of Armenia touched upon the struggle against COVID-19 in the Armed Forces, anti-pandemic measures being taken among the troops and forthcoming programs. The issues related to the current activities were also discussed.
