The servicemen of the RA Armed Forces participated in the World Army Games

On October 15-28, RA Armed Forces military servicemen participated in the 7th World Army Games held in Uhan, China.

More than 10,000 athletes from 105 countries, including Olympic, world and European champions, participated in the military games under the patronage of the International Council on Military Sport (CISM). Athletes havecompeted in 27 disciplines.

Armenia was represented by 15 servicemen who competed in wrestling, judo, orientation on the ground and in gymnastics. Armenian athletes recorded quite high figures. In particular, freestyle wrestler Mher Markosyan and gymnast Arthur Avetisyan won bronze medals.

The International Military Sport Council was established on February 18 1948. CISM is one of the largest international sports organizations with 138 member states. The goal of the organization, "Friendship Through Sports", is to bring together military personnel from different countries on the sports grounds.

The International Military Sports Council regularly organizes regional, continental and world championships in various sports. World cadet games are also organized with the participation of the students of military educational institutions. The organization's biggest events are the winter and summer military games, which exclusively active military personnel have the right to participate in.

Lieutenant Colonel Arman Davtyan is the head of the Armenian delegation to the International Military Sport Council. The head of the Armenian delegation who participated in the 7th World Army Games in China was Colonel Aram Grigoryan.
