Armenian-American cooperation in defence sector discussed at Ministry of Defence

Armenian Defence Minister Davit Tonoyan received on 18 May US Ambassador to Armenia Richard Mills.

Ambassador Mills congratulated Tonoyan the latter’s appointment as defence minister and wished him success in office. Minister Tonoyan thanked him and said that Armenia will continue to develop relations with the allies, while expanding the cooperation with the partners.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the Armenian-American defence cooperation and regional security, reiterating their willingness to further develop the partnership.

Following the meeting, the Minister Tonoyan and Ambassador Mills attended the ceremony of handing certificates to the participants of the 14-18 May training on defence management, held at the Ministry of Defence. The training, which is a part of the Armenian-American defence cooperation programme, was conducted by the US Institute for Defence Resource Management experts.
