Shooting range named after Armenak Urfanyan opens at School No. 35

A shooting range named after Capt. Armenak Urfanyan, a Battle Cross Order of 1st degree awardee, opened at Yerevan’s Basic School 35 on 3 April. Company commander Urfanyan, heroically killed during the April 2016 combat actions, went to this school.

Attending the opening ceremony were First t Deputy Defence Minister Artak Zakaryan, MPs, representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science and Yerevan Municipality, as well as other high-ranking guests.

The pupils of the school presented the heroic life of Capt. Urfanyan. The honour of the opening was given to the hero's mother, Hamest Urfanyan.

The participants of the event studied the facility. First Deputy Minister Zakaryan said he was sure that at the military training lessons held at the shooting range named after the hero, the pupils of the school would learn to protect the most precious thing, the Homeland.
