The parties discussed the works completed in 2017 under the Armenian-US bilateral cooperation in the defence sector and outlined the main directions of cooperation for 2018.

Minister Sargsyan briefed Ambassador Mills on the directions to be included in the Armed Forces’ seven-year modernization program and the further cooperation with the United States in this regard.

Ambassador conveyed the US Department of Defence’s readiness to continue the cooperation with Armenia’s Ministry of Defence in the fields of mutual interest. An agreement was reached to hold Armenian-US bilateral defence consultations in Yerevan during 2018 to develop a common vision of further cooperation.

Issues related to the regional security were also discussed during the meeting.
