Armenian Defence Minister visits Peacekeeping Brigade

Armenian Defence Minister Vigen Sargsyan presented on October 11 the newly appointed commander of the brigade, Col. Vaghinak Sargsyan to the troops of the Armenian Peacekeeping Brigade.

Sargsyan praised the role the former commander of the brigade, Maj. Gen. Artur Simonyan, has played in the formation of peacekeeping units and thanked him for the long-term service of as the brigade’s commander. He expressed confidence that Maj. Gen. Simonyan's military experience and knowledge will be more than helpful in his new capacity of General of Special Assignments at the Ministry of Defence.

Sargsyan expressed confidence that the new commander’s knowledge would be best demonstrated in the organization of the service of one of the Armed Forces’ most important units.

"Changes in positions and places of service during the military service are an integral part of the service, as we need universal commanders, who, taking new positions as planned, are able to expand their field of leadership, demonstrate command talents, be more useful in addressing the challenges the Armed Forces face," Sargsyan said.
