Joint exercise Partnership -2017 continues in Armenia

The joint exercise Partnership -2017 of the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Force (CSTO CRRF) and the units of the Armenian-Russian Joint Forces is in progress in Armenia’s military training grounds.

The exercise is held in accordance with the plan approved in 2016 by the CSTO Defence Ministers Council and the Committee of Security Councils Secretaries with a goal of collective protection of the CSTO member states' independence, territorial integrity and sovereignty, and with the elaboration of the CSTO troops (collective forces).

On October 10, the CSTO and the Joint Forces commanders passed decisions on the application of the troops (forces), and initiated drafting the plan documents.

The CRRF and Joint Forces unites,  involved in the exercise, carried out military training tasks of protecting the state border, the identification,  neutralization and destruction of possible adversary’s subversive groups and illegal armed groups as well as military training camps, and of the release of hostages.

More than 2500 servicemen from the CSTO member states, about 500 units of armament and military equipment, including 25 aircraft, are involved in the Partnership -2017 exercise. Representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross  also attended the exercise as a humanitarian mission.
