Azerbaijani media reported late on August 7 that the Armenian Armed Forces units opened fire on the Azerbaijani village of Garalar wounding a 13-year-old child.

The Armenian Ministry of Defence strongly denies the above mentioned information and states that Armenian units did not open fire from any kind of weapons along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border in the evening of August 7 or during the night. The Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia once again reminds that the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia never and under no circumstance target civilian population.

The fake nature of the Azerbaijani propaganda machine emerges even in the images they have disseminated: they clearly show that the child’s wounds are old and not related to “fractures” allegedly resulting from the August 7 fire.

The Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia urges the Azerbaijani military and political leaderships to refrain from new adventures, and warns that in case of any provocation the Armenian side will resort to tough actions.
