The annual Armenian-Italian military-political consultation took place on March 15th, at the administrative complex of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, led by the Chief of the Department of Defense Policy of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, Levon Ayvazyan and the Deputy Chief of the Planning and Defense Policy Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Italy, rear admiral Roberto Chiamachella.

During the consultations, the result of bilateral defense cooperation between Armenia and Italy in 2016 were summarized. Effective realization of programs in peacekeeping, military education, military police and a number of other fields was noted.

 

The 2017 cooperation plan between the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia and the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Italy was signed at the end of the meeting.

 

Questions concerning regional security issues were also discussed during the consultation.
