Questions concerning Armenian-Russian agenda were discussed

A meeting between Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia Vigen Sargsyan and First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Ruslan Tsalikov took place on January 28th. Ruslan Tsalikov visited the Republic of Armenia in order to participate in the ceremonies dedicated to the formation of the armed forces of the Republic of Armenia.

First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia Davit Tonoyan represented the Armenian side, while the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Armenia Ivan Volinkin, deputy commander of the southern military district of the Russian Federation, lieutenant-general Aleqsandr Romanchuk represented the Russian side.

 

Questions concerning almost the entire spectrum of the Armenian-Russian bilateral cooperation agenda in military and military-technical matters were discussed during the meeting and steps concerning future development were noted.

 

The First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation stated that he inspected the facilities, logistical base, structure and living conditions of the 102nd military base of the Russian Federation in Gyumri.

 

The Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia in turn noted that Armenian-Russian cooperation and Russian military base number 102 in the Republic of Armenia are important factors for stability and security in the region.

 

Vigen Sargsyan also stated that the Armenian side intends to continue providing humanitarian aid in Syria and will be prepared to send another shipment in the next several days.
