RA defense minister S. Ohanyan participated in the sitting of the North-Atlantic Council

On May 28 at the NATO headquarters RA Minister Seyran Ohanyan and Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian participated in the sitting of the North-Atlantic Council in the 26+1 format, where the process of accomplishment of the Armenia-NATO Individual Partnership Action Plan was discussed.

The Armenian foreign minister said in his speech that Armenia underscores IPAP as a format of cooperation with the Alliance. He presented to the ambassadors of the NATO member-countries pace of Armenia’s cooperation with EU, referred to the Karabakh conflict regulation process reconfirming Armenia’s position over solving the issue through negotiations. Referring to the regulation of the Armenian-Turkish relations, Nalbandian pointed out that Armenia is ready without pre-conditions regulate relations with Turkey which also stems from the points of IPAP. RA defense minister Seyran Ohanyan presented in his speech the process of reforms in the defense sphere and referred to its legislative changes. The ambassadors of NATO member countries noted in their speeches that Armenia has carried out the goals registered in IPAP according to the schedule and expressed readiness of their countries to continue supporting Armenia in the process of reforms.    On the basis of the results of the assessment steps will be undertaken for relevant supplements in the program. In the frames of visit the heads of RA delegation met with NATO Deputy Secretary General, Claudio Bisogniero.
