Admission Requirements
Admission Requirements
The Institute is open to high school graduate male citizens of the Republic of Armenia, to under 23 servicemen in reserve, and contract of mandatory servicemen.
In the local military commissariats (detachments) personal files are prepared for the applicants, where the following documents are to be included:
Application form to the local commissariat (commander of the detachment), which has to include the name, surname, middle name, date of birth, educational degree (also the military rank and position for servicemen), the specialization applied for, the desired place of study
Card
Profesional selection card
Resume
Reference letter from the place of education or work (detachment)
Medical card
2 copies of the certificate of birth approved by the military commissar (detachment commander)
Certificate from the local police office
Notarially approved agreement from parents to send their son for education.
School-leaving certificate (copy)
Certificate on the number of family members
Copy of the passport’s 2-5 pages
Copy of the social security card
4 color 3x4 sized photos
The results of the “Joint” examinations (certificates)
The military certificate, passport and the school-leaving certificate, together with the “Joint” exams certificates, the candidate brings in person on the day of submitting the application.
Admission Examinations
1. Armenian Language (with variant “A” – the grade on the graduation certificate),
2. Mathematics (in the joint system, with variant “B”),
3. Physics (in the joint system, with the variant “B”),
4. Russian Language (with variant “A” – the grade on the graduation certificate).
All the applicants pass a centralized medical examination
The central admissions committee organizes:
exams in physical preparedness
interview in the topic of “Professional Orientation and Psychological Compatibility”
The military commissariats and detachments introduce the applicants (with personal files) to the ARM MoD admissions committee in the deadlines mentioned in the ARM MoD order on organizing the admissions.
The ARM MoD admissions committee checks the presence of the necessary document and appoints the days for medical examination and physical preparedness exams. The medical examination is held within the standards required for the admission to the Military Educational Institution.
During the physical preparedness exam the accomplishment of the following norms:
100 m running
1000 m running
Chin-ups
Only those applicants who receive positive scores in the abovementioned exams and have the required health conditions can participate in the competitive admission process.
The competition is organized as follows:
Based on the scores of the competitive subjects a list (in a descending manner) is made and interviews are held with the applicants in the topic of “Professional Orientation and Psychological Compatibility”. The interviews are held according to the tests that were made beforehand, where questions discovering the general development, professional orientation and psychological compatibility are included.
The competition is held in the presence of the committee formed by the order of the ARM MoD, the parents of the applicants and the invited media outlets.
Applicants who positively show themselves during interviews can consult with his parents and chose the educational establishment where they want to study. If in that institute the places are already taken he will be offered to study in the institute, where his scores are sufficient for admission.
Based on the work of the committee ARM Defence Minister’s order is made.
The admitted students are considered servicemen and according to article 10, part 2, and article 12, part 3 of the ARM “Law on Taking Military Service”, a contract is signed about continuing the further service by the end of the second year.
The Privileges Given to Applicants
Without competition the Institute admits those applicants who receive positive scores in the admission exams, meet the requirements for professional selection and
1. are sons of servicemen and freedom fighters who died or became disabled during combat activities,
2. are two-side orphans.
In case of equal scores privilege is given to those applicants who receive positive scores in the admission exams, meet the requirements for professional selection and
1. are conscripts to mandatory service,
2. are sons of servicemen and freedom fighters who participated in combat activities,
3. are masters of sports or candidates for mastery.
